I need to modified a exiting decan on my library.
Inside this decal, there are some terminal that have diameter = 0 mm on pad stack.
This terminal is not visible and for this reason I'm not able to select. (only Pin number is visible)
How do I can select the terminal and change this value for example to 0.2 mm?

I am using pads Vx.1.1 and for part quest am using "PADS Netlist with xDX Databook". My part quest is working fine in terms of download, finding components etc. But i face problem like , if i give any part number (Example Say 598-8180-107F led green from Dialight, MSTBA2.5/8-G-5.08 from Pheonix Contact) i could get only csv file, not the symbol or foot prints. Most of the component has the same issue. I don't know whether am following the correct procedure. As per my project only symbol is much required not foot print . please guide me in this process.

Currently our license server checks out 2 licenses to one machine for use in dxdesigner, and pads pro if both are open. I'm not sure if this is the way licensing works.
Is this the way licensing is supposed to work?

I'm attempting to install CodeBench for ARM Lite that was purchased. I downloaded the authorization code file from my account, and pointed to the installer to that location, but I get the error in the above title during the install proceed on Ubuntu.
Is there a different license file I need to use?
Let me start by saying that I am completely new to the nucleus readystart development environment. I installed the nucleus readystart on a Linux host. The license path environment variable is set correctly. I provided the license file at the beginning of installation. The file was accepted without any errors. After completing installation and starting the IDE a warning appears stating the sourcery code bench is unlicensed (see screenshot below). Why was this feature not included in the license for readystart? I find it unusual that it was part of the installation package but a license was not provided for it. Was this an oversight when the license was created? Can I ignore this warning? I have attached the license file for reference.
I am inquiring on the status of LP Wizard.
The last update was in September 2012. Since then there seem to be a complete still stand in library creation.
Mentor has many time bragged about the capability of good library management as a basis of all design activities.
A part form the starter library from Optimum, if the librarian needs to produce new, components it seem that we are left in the stone age.
Either you use LP Wizard to generate some (but not all new cells) and spread sheets to use in symbol editor and manually bind them together to a part, or you are into a lengthy design phase trying to modify whatever is in the library to fit the new component that is needed.
I was somehow hopeful that you could import cells and symbols from other design tools, but many times this is an exercise in patience and a lot of hand work.
To add to this state Mentor has erected a wall to import even hkp format that are generated from other tools like PCB Library expert or Ultralibrarian. (You have to get a special license for this and install a separate tree of the tool just for the conversion!!!)
It seems to me that Mentor has decided not to be the source of the library by not taking care of the LP wizard, and had allowed PCB Library Expert to become the perceived leader.
On the other hand Expedition is not a really good at importing other's symbols and cells. OR at least I am stills struggling with this part.
So what is the state of LP Wizard, and how does Mentor plan to help library creation flourish and prosper?

I have a little problem using / understanding Variants. The simple things are clear to me, so I can specify "Variant 1" has R1 placed, but not R2, while "Variant 2" has R2 placed instead of R1.
So Far - so Good, but here is my problem: I have one design, with two global options - "Device 1" and "Device 2" - each device can be equipped with either "Module 1" or "Module 2". I specified a variant for "Device 1", "Device 2", "Module 1" and "Module 2" and want now to specify a Variant (Group?) with the following combinations:
* "Device 1" with "Module 1",
* "Device 1" with "Module 2",
* "Device 2" with "Module 1" or
* "Device 2" with "Module 2",
When I define a "Variant Group" I can see Device 1 and Module 1 but they are not combined - neither is a combined BOM exported. Or do I have to generate one variant for each of the above mentioned combination?

In my library -> part editor -> description -> text box, I have a generic description, copied in the past and now from excel, using
ctrl+c / ctrl+v
In this way all ascii characters are copied ( olso Carriage Return and Line-Feed ).
When I import Gencad file in other software, there are many errors, solve erasing CR and LF using NOTEPAD++.
It's boring editing every time gencad file.
I tryed to extract library data using Report-Writer and open mdl ; or creating report *.rpc, but all times those output clear automatically CR and LF and so
I can't find description "wrong" .
Advanced library editor do not work on "description"
Any one have Idea how find Carriage Return and Line-Feed ? Tnks

just one more question regarding variants: I created some variants and want to export the schematics as pdf. That's working fine, and I must enter an unique name for each variant. But is there the possibility for the selected variant to show up on the schematic pages? E.g. within the border?

I am using PADS Logic and Pads Layout (VX.1.1) combination (Standard Plus) and I am using physical design reuse (PDR) the first time. My issue is that after creating the reuse and then making another copy of the reuse the reference designator locations are reset back to the component origin and not maintained. I have over twenty identical channels and I really do not want to have to place all reference designators by hand.
I create the "make reuse" by selecting everything within my board (which only contains the layout for one channel right now), then save to a file. I then select the components for the next channel from PADS Logic via cross-probing and then click "make like reuse", select the .reu file I created and the reuse is duplicated just fine, except the reference designators have been reset back to component origin.
How can I make the reuse to retain the reference designator locations?
I am starting an evaluation of Hyperlynx DRC 6.2.3 with VX1.2 and was wondering if anyone is currently using this in production.
I prefer to use Analysis Control and view the results directly within the PCB environment vs. the previous detached flow like in Quiet Expert

Following a database corruption I had to export all my projects as copies. I had to uninstall VeSys 2.0 2010.2 and reinstall it again. I imported my projects, libraries etc. When I looked at File>Project Preferences I found that these were the same as my previous (non-default) settings.
I took the precaution of logging all my Style Settings before uninstalling VeSys and sadly I've found that these have changed back to default. But what's most worrying in the menu structure is that I've lost all the Cross-reference XREF setup options?
Wire>Decorations>Horizontal/Vertical>Cross-reference>Wire-XREF is important to me and they've gone.
If I connect a wire across two drawings the offsheet double arrows appear as expected, but there is no associated text to indicate the target sheet/Component/pin. When I look at properties for the wire, [Hide Cross-reference text] is shown, indicating that it should currently be visible. Switching this makes no difference.
None of the cross-reference XREF setups are available any more so I won't be able to see cross-references for any new items (connectors, devices, symbols, wires) which are split across drawings

Hi! I'm new to IE3D/HyperLynx (v. 15.3) and I'm going through the training in the PDF User Guide. I was fine until I got to page 6-40, on batch simulating GDSII files through AGIF. When I attempt to run the simulations, it fails. In the Program Manager it says: "error 73740: [License request for ie3dcpucore feature failed]". Not sure what to say about this since I was simulating things just fine up to this point.

I am trying to convert some Eagle files( .brd and .sch ) to DxDesigner? I want to modify these files in Mentor Graphics.
Is there a method to do this or is it even possible?
I was looking online and I saw that some people first converted Eagle to Altium and then to DxDesigner<- not sure if this works tho.
I will appreciate any help.
We use DxDatabook to manage the parametric database of our parts. Originally we started out with excel to drive odbc, then we moved to mysql and wrote a custom front end to the database for creating parts, but it has too many bugs, and I'm trying to evaluate what my other options are, and what the companies out there use to drive their dxdatabook.
We are currently also evaluating Omnify, but I've also heard of using Access (if you have that recommendation, are there any examples you can point me to for the organization and form entry?). I've also considered Aras, but it seems overly complex if the only purpose of this database is to drive dxdatabook and encourage reuse of existing parts.
We have a team of up to 10 engineers adding parts to the database, so we can't afford an enterprise solution.
When trying to import the part get this popup error:
"Unable to check for update to PartQuest Tools installer. Import will continue."
After clicking OK nothing happens.
